Framingham Contempt Order Lawyer

Making Certain That Court Orders are Followed

When the court finalizes child custody and visitation, child support, and spousal support arrangements, the expectation is that these arrangements will be followed. If they are not followed, the party who is not following them can be held in contempt of court. An experienced attorney can efficiently and effectively handle these enforcement actions.

Since 1990, The Law Office of Ronald M. Stone has provided trusted family law representation to people in Metro West/Framingham and the surrounding areas of Massachusetts. We are committed to the enforcement of court orders.

Enforcing Judgments Through Contempt Proceedings

When a parent fails to pay the required amount of child support or spousal support, they can be held in contempt. When a parent violates the terms of the child custody or visitation agreement, they can be held in contempt.

Being held in contempt comes with repercussions. The person who failed to follow court orders may be forced to take steps to make amends, such as paying all back child support if the case involves unpaid child support. Privileges could also be taken away, including driving privileges. Incarceration can also be imposed after being found in contempt. Making Changes to Prevent Further Violations

When a parent continues to ignore court orders, the orders may be changed to resolve the issue. The court may order changes in some cases. In others, we can follow the necessary process to seek modifications of judgments in order to prevent any further problems.
